Checking Soil Moisture

Soil-based measurements are probably the most practical way of determining irrigation needs in alfalfa.  Electrical resistance blocks and soil sensors are tools that are effective for making accurate assessments.   Download the Soil-Moisture Monitoring publication (136KB PDF) to find out how to install and use these tools.
