DESCRIPTION:
Ducksalad, an annual emersed aquatic plant, is limited in its distribution
and found mostly in California's Sacramento Valley. Mature plants, 15 to 30
cm (6 - 12 inches) tall, have bright, waxy green, oval-shaped leaf blades that
may be submerged, floating, or held above the water surface. Showy flowers
have
six petals that are arranged in a narrow star shape. Each flower is borne
singly. Seeds germinate only in saturated soil. It is an early season
problem in rice, primarily in open water.
